Leonhard Euler was a Swiss mathematician who made enormous contibutions to a wide range of mathematics and physics including analytic geometry, trigonometry, geometry, calculus and number theory.Euler could repeat the Aeneid of Virgil from beginning to end without hesitation, and for every page in the edition he could indicate which line was the first and which the last. With the aid of his scribes, Euler's productivity on many areas of study actually increased. He produced on average one mathematical paper every week in the year 1775.

اويلر يك رياضيدان سويسي بود كه به پيشبرد طيف وسيعي از رياضيات و فيزيك شامل هندسه تحليلي، مثلثات، هندسه، حسابان، و نظريه اعداد كمك بسيار بزرگي كرد. حافظه اش شگفت انگيزيبود. كتاب ويرژيل را در ياد داشت و در جواني، توانست طي چند ماه خود را براي تدريس در دانشكده پزشكي آماده سازد. جداول مثلثاتي و لگاريتم را از بر داشت و در دوران نابينائي نيز كارش ادامه داشت.
